To edit a Discovery Scanner

  1. Log in as an administrator with the global_admin role.
  2. Go to Find > Discovery.
  3. In the main grid, select one of the listed Discovery Scanners.
  4. Click Edit to update the following settings. 

Name

A unique identifier for the Discovery Scanner. 

Owner

The username of the scanner owner. 

The user who creates the scanner is automatically made the owner.  You can later edit this field and assign ownership to someone else. 

Description

The purpose or usage of the scanner. 

Poll Frequency

The number of minutes between each Discovery Scanner connection with Certificate Hub for checking:

  • Configuration updates.
  • Requests to run scans immediately.

This optional value defaults to 1 to remain responsive to updates.

Periodic polling checking is an inexpensive operation from a networking and computing standpoint.
