Before you begin the installation process, ensure that you meet the requirements in this section.

Hardware Prerequisites

Lenovo ThinkSystem SR250 or SR630 with: 

  • 8-core CPU

  • 16 GB RAM

  • Broadcom Ethernet Controller

  • Intel VROC/VMD for NVMe RAID

Note: Only fresh installations are supported with this release.

Installation Requirements

  • Configure RAID 1 so that 1 virtual disk is visible to the Operating System.
    When you deploy the ISO, the system will detect if the destination disk already has a formatted partition table. If so, you will be prompted to type 'delete my data' to proceed.

  • Ensure that at least 1 NIC is connected. If you have multiple NICs, you will be prompted to select the primary interface.

  • Ensure that UEFI is enabled.

  • Ensure that UEFI secure boot is disabled. If not, you can disable it in XClarity Provisioning Manager by navigating to the UEFI Setup page and selecting System Settings > Security > Secure Boot Configuration > Secure Boot Setting.
    The deployment will not continue if UEFI Secure Boot is detected.

  • If you plan to use network bonding, the primary bonded interface needs to be created with both members when you deploy the ISO. After the system setup is complete, you can create the secondary bonded interface.
