You can move any VM that does not have BoundaryControl enabled to a different Cloud VM Set.

Note: You must have access to both the original Cloud VM Set and the Cloud VM Set where you are moving the VM.

Movement will be blocked if: 

  • The source or the destination Cloud VM Set has one of the following configured:

    • Single Encryption Key (SEK)

    • Key Encryption Key (KEK)

  • You exceed the max number of virtual machines registered for the destination Cloud VM Set.

  1. Log into the Cryptographic Security Platform Vault for VM Encryption using an account with Cloud Admin privileges.
  2. In the top menu bar, click Workloads.
  3. Click the VMs tab.
  4. Select the VM that you want to move.

  5. Select Actions > Move VM to another Cloud VM Set.
  6. On the Move VM to another Cloud VM Set window, enter the following: . Select the Destination Group and the Destination CVM Set.

    Destination Group

    Select the name of the Cryptographic Security Platform Vault for VM Encryption Group that owns the destination Cloud VM Set.

    Destination CVM Set

    Select the Cloud VM Set set where you want to move the selected VM. The current Cloud VM Set will be listed, but cannot be selected.

  7. Click Migrate.
