If the vault is configured for local authentication, you add users as described below to give them access to the vault. Users must also be added to policies as these determine their role and level of access.

If the vault is configured for Active Directory authentication, the Users tab does not appear, and you add AD users/groups directly in the access policy. 

To add a Cryptographic APIs user

  1. Log in to the Cryptographic Security Platform Vault for Cryptographic APIs web GUI.

  2. On the Home tab, select Security > Users.

  3. On the Manage Users page, click the Create icon to add a user.

  4. On the Add User dialog, enter the user's details:

    Status

    By default, the user account is enabled. If you do not want to activate the user account, set the status to DISABLED.

    User Name

    Enter a user name.

    Full Name

    Enter the user's full name.

    Email

    Enter the user's email address. The user will be notified about their account using this email address.

    Password

    Enter a password for the user.

    Password Expiration

    Enter the expiry date for the user's password.

  5. Click Add. The user can't access the vault unless you add them to a policy. You can:

    • Add the user to an existing policy

    • Create a new policy

    • Select Not Now and add the user to a policy later
